The purpose of tests and what they are not.

A test is an examination of something to determine its properties.

Medical and psychological tests do not:

  • 1 - Provide a definitive answer
  • 2 - Provide a diagnosis
  • 3 - Replace a doctor

Medical and psychological tests help to:

  • 1 - Assist, in conjunction with many other diagnostic tools, in making a diagnosis.
  • 2 - Help, in conjunction with many other diagnostic tools, determine the trend of rehabilitation or the course of an illness.
  • 3 - Help to initially filter a large array of options.

Questionnaire-based tests should be treated as one of several auxiliary tools for decision-making, and their results should be used in conjunction with other factors.

A question well asked is half answered.
